Parts of the following were taken from the Louisville Bicycle Club Touring Program Guidelines. Thanks to theLouisville Bicycle Club, Louisville, KY for allowing the use of their documents.
Ride/Touring Chair Guidelines
Ride/Touring Chair – Touring General Duties In accordance with the Bluegrass Cycling Club (BCC) by-laws, adopted November 6, 1994, Standing Touring Committee shall be established. The BCC Rides/Touring Chair will direct the BCC touring program and have principle responsibility for the quality, variety, and safety of the Club’s rides. Among his/her specific duties shall include:

  1. Shall serve as a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee
  2. Recruitment, orientation, and training of ride leaders
  3. Work with the Statistician to make sure rides are credited properly and to resolve any issues in a timely manner
  4. Scheduling and presiding at quarterly meetings of the Touring Committee
  5. Entering rides on the BCC Schedule (calendar)
  6. Reporting to the Executive Board on the progress “rides”
  7. Presenting recommendations from the Ride Committee to the Executive Board
