On behalf of the Bluegrass Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, I would like to thank the Bluegrass Cycling Club for their fantastic support and partnership for our second annual “Ride with the Red” charity cycling ride. This second year event had over 230 riders, with representatives from both the Cumberland Gap Bicycle Club, the Louisville Bicycle Club, the Pedal Power Race team, the Pedal the Planet race team, the McDonalds race team and the Bluegrass Triathlon club. We raised almost $5,600 and the money raised stays in central Kentucky to help our neighbors prepare for and respond to disasters. We especially would like to acknowledge the assistance provided by the following BCC officers and members: Mrs. Peggy Littrell, Mr. Tom Overbey, Mr. Tom Walters, Mrs. Bonnie Walters, Mrs. Ana Edwards, Mr. Griff Baute and Ms. Billianne Withers
We sincerely enjoyed the partnership with the Bluegrass Cycling Club and look forward to working together on the Horsey Hundred and the Christmas Bike Gift program.
