Meeting Minutes: Bluegrass Cycling Club general membership meeting

By-Laws Revision-
Pam Thomas presented the proposed bylaws, including the effects of the changes in laymen’s terms.
Motion to adopt the proposed bylaws was moved by Dwayne Edwards, seconded by Mike Bagley and was passed. The new bylaws are posted on the website.
Update
Treasurer: $58K in bank, we are tracking close to budget for the year. Sandy needs funding requests from committee chairs for next year’s budget.
Ride- 56 rides completed in October, 13 scheduled or completed in November. During the touring season 5133 riders went on 577 rides, riding 164997 miles for an average of 32.1 miles/ride. Total lifetime miles are 479593. Year round mileage will now be kept, however off season miles will not be available on the website until January. Touring season mileage awards will still be given based on the rules in the ride guidelines.
Membership- 524 members for the year. 50 members signed up for 2010 so far, 19 signed up at Bike for the Bluegrass.
Nominating- no report
Events-
Red River Rally- made $145 after expenses, poor weather reduced the turnout, especially on Saturday. ½ of the Sunday riders went on the 65 mile route to Beattyville. Next year the shelter is reserved for the 1st Sunday in October, it is not available for Saturday however, Patrick is exploring other options for Saturday.
Bike for the Bluegrass- 133 riders took part this year
Horsey Hundred- looking for jersey design ideas currently, still need volunteers for a number of key positions, contact Dwayne Edwards if interested at

Ride for the Red- next years event will be 15 May 2010, 2 sponsors so far, and there will probably be 4 mileage options.
Financial Oversight- no report
Philanthropic- Christmas Bike Give away- need a coach and a mechanic for the bike rodeo, Jan Colbert will be leading the lunch team, 55 bikes to be given away to children in Big Brothers Big Sisters. This year’s event will be at the Northside YMCA on December 13 from 2-5pm. Contact Malcolm Barrett at

Old Business

Time trials- Shawn Hokanson will probably start up the series in April next year, looking for course possibilities.
New Business
BCC Award Application- Griff Baute is putting together an application, nominating our club for the “Club of the Year” award in Region 3 from the League of American Bicyclists.
Annual Banquet- tentatively scheduled for the middle of January, looking for a new location for this year’s event.
Next meeting will be December 16 (this is a change from the normal date) at Peggy’s house (2356 The Woods Lane) at 7pm.
